ViewRanger Ordnance Survey topographical mapping software.

Retrieva have teamed up with ViewRanger to enable the collar to report live tracking data to your mobile phone or tablet device.

The ViewRanger system enables you to use topographical mapping, (i.e. in the UK detailed Ordnance Survey maps) downloaded to your phone that will report the location of your dog.

This is very important as many maps will not show streams, footpaths in woods or tracks in the countryside. If you are in a wood, Satellite mapping will only show a cover of foliage from which it is difficult to determine a location.

It is an excellent system and is used by many of our customers to navigate around the countryside as well as find their dogs.

The ViewRanger app. provides:

• A unique mapping and navigation tool for smart-phones, and is ideal for anyone who enjoys the outdoors.
• Topographic maps (e.g. Ordnance Survey) to show detail including contours, footpaths, woodland, waterways, coastal areas and a wealth of other information.
• GPS track logging and trail route navigation. ViewRanger can detail distance covered, time taken, average speed, etc.
• GPS-triggered audio and video guides.
• Data management for routes, tracks, points of interest, maps etc.
• "Buddy-Beacon" to locate friends and the Retrieva tracking collar and display their location on the map.
• Publishing to create online photo TravelLog and publish via Facebook.
• Ability to search and discover new leisure walking route guides and download instantly.
