Nordic Radio Finland and Retrieva are pleased to announce the establishment of a regional distribution partnership to bring the Retrieva Tracking Collar to Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
After the three years of development the tracking collar was launched into the UK market in January 2009. Using a combination of GPS (Satnav), GSM (Telecom) and radio frequency technologies the founders of Retrieva have created a dog collar that is smarter than your mobile phone. The three technologies ensure an overlapping and reinforced system to monitor and track your dog in most conditions and environments.
For the pet market, the system includes the ICyou™ base station that plugs into a household socket and creates a virtual perimeter of about 100metres. Within this area the collar goes into a dormant state thereby reducing power consumption and significantly extending the interval between recharging the battery. The anti-theft features include cut-proof technology in the collar webbing so that if anyone tries to tamper with the lock, or cut the collar, the collar will send you a text message to let you know. The GPS technology is designed within the collar to have a “sky-view” which is necessary to ensure optimum efficiency.
For working dogs the collar has an easy release clip to ensure it will open if caught on undergrowth. It is waterproof for the swimmers and the RF technology means that it is compatible with directional finding equipment.
Perhaps the most important innovative feature is that dog owners can also use their mobile phone to locate the dog on detailed mapping software. The mapping application enables the owner to request the collar’s location, which will then appear on the map on your phone. And if your phone is GPS enabled you will also be able to plot your location relative to that of your dog.
