Read More...As the unit is covert, its principal source of energy is a rechargeable battery. The unit is intelligent enough to send you a text message warning you that the battery charge is running low.
The battery life will vary depending on how you wish to configure the unit, and what the unit is being used to track. For example, a trackable dog collar will typically be set to hibernate and only report its location when the dog is lost. In this form the battery will last up to 3 weeks, though we would suggest a charge every 10 days. A unit which is left on a boat (and typically have a slightly larger battery) and set to report its location only once every week can last up to 3 months.
